Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships in the Sciences
Belmont University started the SURFS program in 2015 with just 15 participants and a hand-full of faculty. Now, this is a major component of the undergraduate experience in the College of Sciences and Mathematics (CSM). Currently, we are excited to provide this opportunity to approximately 50 students each summer, working with faculty within and beyond CSM.
In addition to streamlining administrative aspects of individual summer programs, SURFS offers research seminars, professional development seminars, as well as social activities for those undergraduates engaged in research on our campus during the summer.

Applying for SURFS
The SURFS application for summer, 2022 is now closed. The application for summer, 2023 will open in fall 2022 and close early spring, 2023.
