Self-Compassion in the Wake of COVID-19

Practicing self-compassion has been supported in the literature to have many benefits for emerging adults who have experienced stress, traumatic events, and overall mental distress. Previous research has established the existence of a positive relationship between self-compassion and overall wellness among emerging adults, however, the correlation between self-compassion and specific dimensions of wellness is missing. Additionally, research is seemingly limited on the relationship between self-compassion and COVID-19 related experiences. Using a mixed methods approach, the current study explores the relationships between self-compassion, three dimensions of wellness (stress management, interpersonal relations, and spiritual growth), and COVID-19 among emerging adults.
